Tafika Zambezi is located within the Sapi Safari Area, about 40km downstream from Mana Pools National Park and just above the confluence of the Chewore and Zambezi Rivers. Just to the east is the famed Chewore North Safari Area.

Like Mana Pools and Sapi, Chewore is administered by Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Authority. Across the river is Zambia's Lower Zambezi National Park. Collectively, and on both sides of the river, one of the largest, unspoiled, undeveloped and unpopulated wilderness areas in southern Africa thus surrounds Tafika Zambezi.

By Road

In the 19th Century, it took David Livingstone arduous weeks to trek the Lower Zambezi.

Today road access is available and is greatly improved from David Livingstone's day, but we recommend that only the most adventurous guests who have four-wheel drive vehicles attempt the trip.
For those planning the adventurous drive, see the map to the left.
